JLP Foundation Values Statement
We recognize the implications of intersectionality, and work to build and bridge communities that welcome and affirm people to be their whole selves, honoring their multiple identities and lived experiences. We work to resist and interrupt systems of oppression that marginalize individuals and communities based on social identities.
JLP is committed to:
• Accessibility: creating environments that are accessible to all identities with a focus on those most marginalized and oppressed in our communities.
• Diversity: committed unwaveringly to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We believe that embracing diversity in all its forms is not only a moral imperative but also a source of strength that enriches our organization and the communities we serve
• Equity & Inclusion: everyone deserves an opportunity to live their full potential, and our community is stronger when they are full of opportunities for people with diverse identities, backgrounds and perspectives.
• Community and Teamwork: we value the transformative impact of collaboration. By working together, fostering open communication, furthering understanding, and building caring and supportive environments, we can achieve something bigger than we could alone.
• Human Rights: we believe in rights that inherently belong to every person based on shared human values including fairness, equality, respect and independence. All people have the right to pursue a healthy and happy life, with limited restrictions from government and individuals.
