Step onto the court and elevate your game! This DAE basketball camp focuses on sharpening your scoring skills through engaging activities like exciting shooting games and competitions. Enjoy “open gym” play in a camp tournament-style format. This camp is designed to help players boost their shooting accuracy and build game confidence. Whether you’re aiming to perfect your shot or just looking for a great time on the court, this camp promises an unforgettable experience filled with teamwork, skill-building, and happy vibes!
Led by the DAE Foundation and College of Charleston Hall of Fame basketball player Jermel President, this camp offers players a chance to learn from the best. Guest visitors, motivational sessions, and plenty of on-court fun are the winning combination of hard work, teamwork, and FUN!

We’re breaking down the art of shooting with a daily schedule packed with high reps, competitive games, scrimmages, and special guest speakers:
Daily Schedule:
12:30 – 1:00 PM: Shoot Around
1:00 – 2:00 PM: Shooting Games
2:00 – 3:00 PM: Scrimmage
3:00 – 4:00 PM: Break + Guest Speaker
4:00 – 4:30 PM: Shooting Contests

Coach Christen Cunningham
College of Charleston Men’s Basketball General Manager/Assistant Coach
About Coach Cunningham
Christen Cunningham is the General Manager and Assistant Coach for College of Charleston Men’s Basketball, joining Chris Mack’s inaugural staff in 2024–25. In his first season, he helped lead the Cougars to a 24-9 record and a CAA semifinal appearance.
Cunningham previously served as an assistant coach at Rhode Island (2023–24) after a season as the program’s Director of Player Development. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Louisville from 2020–22.
A former standout point guard, Cunningham played professionally in Croatia before transitioning to coaching. As a player, he was a graduate transfer and team captain at Louisville in 2018–19, averaging 10.1 points and 4.9 assists while guiding the team to an NCAA Tournament berth. Prior to that, he was a three-year starter and all-time assist leader at Samford, finishing with 1,283 career points and 514 assists.
A Georgetown, Ky. native, Cunningham holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration from Samford and a master’s in sport administration from Louisville. In his role at Charleston, he oversees roster management, NIL strategy, and plays a key part in player development and offensive identity.

Coach Tre McLean
West Ashley High School Men’s Basketball Coach; Co-Founder/President of the 20/20 Youth Organization
About Coach McLean
Tre’ McLean is the head basketball coach at West Ashley High School and Co-Founder & President of The 20/20 Youth Organization, a nonprofit dedicated to developing amateur student-athletes across the Greater Charleston area. Through education, mentorship, and community engagement, 20/20 aims to empower young athletes to become “Unconditional Champions” both on and off the court.
A Charleston native and West Ashley alum, McLean starred as a high school senior, averaging 16.2 points and leading the Wildcats to a 20-6 record and a deep playoff run. He went on to play college basketball at Queens College and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he earned All-Southern Conference honors.
Following college, McLean enjoyed a successful international pro career, with stints in Russia, Germany, Greece, Croatia, Israel, Mexico, and Venezuela. Highlights include an LNBP championship and All-Star selection with Abejas de León.
Grounded in faith, family, and service, McLean now channels his global experience into shaping the next generation of Lowcountry athletes.

Coach Travis Smith
James Island High School Men’s Basketball Coach; Co-Founder/Vice President of the 20/20 Youth Organization
About Coach Smith
Travis Smith is a Charleston native who has continued to make a significant impact in areas of youth sports & mentorship. After graduating from Porter-Gaud School, Travis accepted a collegiate basketball scholarship and finished his amateur career at Mercer University.
After graduating from Mercer, Travis played professional basketball overseas in multiple countries for several years. Upon retirement from playing, Travis returned to Porter-Gaud to work alongside his former coach and mentor John Pearson. From 2016 to 2023, he had multiple roles at the school including stints in the Athletic Department and Foundation office, but most notably as Associate Head Coach with boys basketball. In 2023 Travis accepted a position as Head Boys Basketball Coach at James Island Charter High School and has led the Trojans to back to back region titles, back to back Final 4 appearance (first time in school history), and this year was selected Coach of the Year for his region.
Outside of the court, Travis alongside partner Tre McLean co-founded the 20/20 Youth Organization with the mission of “guiding low country athletes to become unconditional champions” on and off the court. The organization serves over 400 boy and girl student-athletes in the Lowcountry area annually.
